Power steering pump
The power steering pump is driven by a V-belt from the engine crankshaft pulley.

Oil pressure with the steering wheel turned all the way to the right or left, kg/cm²: 77-83.
Note: Since the 1987 model year, a power steering pump has been used that produces a pressure of 95-100 kg/cm². It differs externally from the previous type in that it has a straight rather than curved drain pipe. Since March 1987, a multi-groove belt has been used on vehicles with "16SV" engines. The power steering pump is driven by a multi-groove accessory drive belt, the tension of which is adjusted as specified in Section "Electrical equipment".

The belt tension when pressing with a special device on the middle of the branch between the pulleys of the pump and the crankshaft should be 45 kgf for a new belt and 25-30 kgf for a worn-in belt.

Oil used: Automatic transmission oil type Dexron D.
The oil is poured into the power steering system for the entire service life of the vehicle. Every 30,000 km or every two years of operation, check the oil level in the pump tank and, if necessary, bring it up to standard.
