Adjusting idle speed and CO content (Opel Kadett D)

The throttle valve and fuel mixture adjustment screws are sealed at the factory. The circulating mixture adjustment screw is not sealed, since its rotation does not have a significant effect on the CO content. The throttle valve does not generally require adjustment.

Adjustment of the combustible mixture is required only when the CO content in the exhaust gases is higher than the norm. When performing this adjustment, it is necessary that the hydraulic compensators of the valve clearances, the angle of the breaker contacts, the ignition timing and the gap in the spark plugs are normal.
