Removing
Remove the cylinder head and lay it on two wooden blocks, see point 6.7.
Remove the rocker arms, stops and compensators for valve clearances, see point 6.7.
Remove intake manifold and exhaust manifold.
Mark valves before removing them.
Attention: If you want to use the parts again, you must install them exactly in the same position. In order not to confuse anything, we recommend laying out all the details on a previously prepared board.
Remove the valves using the appropriate valve remover. To do this, squeeze the valve remover and remove the valve cotters. Take out the valve. If you do not have such a device, then you can compress the spring with two screwdrivers. To prevent the valve from falling down, a suitable rag should be placed in the combustion chamber of the cylinder head.
Pry up the valve stem seal using a screwdriver.
Remove the valve swivel seat from the exhaust valve and the stem washer from the intake valve.
Installation
Before installing the valves, they should be ground and modified with a valve seat in the cylinder head, (milling possible).
lap the valves see paragraph 1.16.
Before installing the valves, in any case, check the valve guides, see paragraph 1.15.
Lubricate the valve stems with engine oil before installing the valves.
Insert the valves into the guide bushings of the cylinder head. Make sure that the old valves are installed again in their original place. Do not confuse intake and exhaust valves.
Install the swivel support but the exhaust valve. Use new valve stem caps.
Attention: Only new valve stem seals should be used. Caps must always be mounted using a mounting sleeve (included). Cut the mounting sleeve to the required length, install the valve cap.
Install the valve spring and poppet.
Using the appropriate tool or two screwdrivers, compress the valve spring and install the cotters.
Release the valve spring.
Install hydraulic valve clearance compensators and stops.
When setting the stops, make sure that the rounding falls on the rounding (see arrow).
Install levers. Sliding surfaces should be lubricated with MOS2 paste.
Screw the pipeline and manifold with new gaskets to the cylinder head.
Install the cylinder head see point 6.7.
