Removal and installation the trunk mounting block (Opel Astra J)

This subsection describes the removal and installation of the fuse box located in the trunk, which is the most difficult to access. Removal of the other fuse boxes is largely similar, and they are much more accessible.

You will need: a 10 mm wrench, a flat-blade screwdriver.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Turn the hatch cover lock in the left side trim by 90°…

5. …fold back the wiring harness connector retainer…

6. …and disconnect it from the mounting block.

7. Similarly, disconnect the second wiring harness connector from the block.

Note: Remember or write down the location of the pads - their locks are of different colors.

8. Press the lock…

9. …and disconnect the small wiring harness connector from the mounting block.

10. Unscrew the mounting block fastening nut…

11. …and, pressing the lock…

12. …remove the mounting block from the vehicle.

13. Install the mounting block and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
