1. Open the hood and place it on the support.

2. Loosen the left upper front bumper mounting screw…

3. …unscrew the screw…

4. …and remove the hood lock drive cable from under the edge of the bumper.

5. Use a screwdriver to pry the cable holder off the radiator frame…

6. …and remove the cable from the holder.

7. From the inside of the upper cross member of the radiator frame, press the locking tab of the wiring harness connector to the hood lock…

8. …and disconnect the connector from the lock harness connector.

9. Using a screwdriver, press the retainer of the hood lock wiring harness connector..

10…disconnect the shoe from the holder.

11. Remove the two bolts securing the hood lock bracket to the upper cross member of the radiator frame…

Note: This is how the hood lock mounting bolts are located.

12. …and disconnect the lock from the crossbar, removing the lock wiring harness from the crossbar hole.

13. Use pliers to squeeze the clamps of the end of the hood release cable sheath…

14. … remove the tip from the upper hole of the lock support bracket and move it to the lower hole of the lock bracket, passing the cable through the groove between the holes.

15. Push the end of the cable sheath into the bracket as shown in the photo…

16. …pry up the cable tip with a screwdriver…

17. …remove the tip from the groove of the lock lever…

18. …and remove the lock.
19. Install the hood lock in the reverse order of removal. Before installing the lock, lubricate its locking mechanism with consistent grease (for example, lithol).

20. If after installation the lock does not lock clearly or is difficult to unlock, adjust its position. Loosen the bolts that secure the lock and move it vertically within the oval holes of the bracket until it works clearly.
