Removal and installation the outside mirror (Opel Astra J)

You will need: 10 mm socket head, flat blade screwdriver.

Note: The left exterior mirror is shown being removed. The right mirror is removed in the same way.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.



2. Pry off the decorative plug of the hole for the lower mirror mounting bolt…



3. …and remove the plug. Remove the plug of the upper bolt in the same way.

Note: This is how the plugs for the holes for the outside mirror mounting bolts are located.

4. Remove the two bolts securing the outside mirror base.



5. Remove the mirror from the door.



6. Pry up the edge of the mirror base seal…



7. … remove the seal from the groove in the door, disconnect the wiring harness connector located in the gap between the outer and inner door panels (the location of the wiring harness block is shown in the photo by the dotted arrow), and remove the mirror.



8. Install the outside mirror in the reverse order of removal.
