1. The fuel supply to the engine cylinders is controlled by the ECM, which receives an electrical signal from the gas pedal position sensor mounted on the pedal assembly. The pedal is dismantled together with the sensor. In the event of failure, the pedal assembly is not repaired under the conditions of a conventional workshop and is completely replaced.
2. In the car, in order to provide access to the pedal assembly, release the fasteners and remove the left (driver's license) instrument panel trim lower cover (see Chapter 11, Section 34), if necessary, fold back the floor carpet.
3. Give the fixing nuts and remove the pedal assembly from the bulkhead of the engine compartment (see resist. illustration). After sliding the locking element on the connector, disconnect the electrical wiring from the gas/fuel pedal position sensor.
4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
