Replacing the air filter element
1. Release the latches of the filter housing cover and remove the filter element (see photo).
Fuel filter replacement
1. Decompress the fuel system (Chapter 4A).
2. Remove the filter by unscrewing the screws (or bending the clamp) and disconnect the tubes (see photo).
Install the new filter according to the arrow that indicates the direction of flow.
Replacing spark plugs
1. On engines 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 l, remove the upper casing by removing the filler cap and unscrewing the screws. On 2.0L engines, remove the shroud that covers the spark plugs (see photo).
2. On 2.0L and 1.6L single shaft engines, tag and disconnect high voltage wires (see photo). On other engines, remove the ignition block from the spark plugs (the block is docked directly on the candles, without wires).
3. Turn out candles and screw in new ones. Candles included in the standard equipment of the engines of the cars in question are multi-electrode, the gap in these candles is not adjustable. If single-electrode spark plugs are installed, then set the gap by checking it with a flat or round probe (see photo).
4. Before installing the candles, make sure that the threads of the candles and the insulator are clean. Wrap the spark plug using a piece of rubber hose to wrap the spark plugs without twisting. Remove the rubber hose and tighten the spark plug (see photo). Close the rest of the candles.
5. Connect the high voltage wires in the same order (check their condition first), install the removed parts.
Replacing the camshaft belt
The procedure for replacing the belt is discussed in Chapter 2B.
Attention! The manufacturer recommends changing the camshaft belt every 120,000 km. However, if short and frequent trips were made, then the belt should be changed after 60,000 km.
