Engines 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 l
Removal
1. Set the parking brake, jack up the front of the vehicle and place it on supports. If equipped, remove the crankcase guard.
2. Drain the engine oil (see Chapter Routine maintenance). Replace the sealing ring, screw the drain plug back in place and tighten it to the required torque.
3. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the sensor.
4. Remove the four mounting bolts and release the sensor from the pan.
Installation
1. When installing a used sensor, be sure to replace the sealing ring.
2. Install the sensor in the tray, apply anaerobic sealant to the threaded part of the mounting screws, screw them in and tighten them to the required force.
3. Lower the vehicle to the ground and fill the engine with fresh oil (see Chapter Routine maintenance).
2.0L Engines
Removal
1. Set the parking brake, jack up the front of the vehicle and place it on supports. If equipped, remove the crankcase guard.
2. Drain the engine oil (see Chapter Routine maintenance). Replace the sealing ring, screw the drain plug back in place and tighten it to the required torque.
3. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the sensor, release the retainer and push the sensor into the pan.
4. Unscrew the mounting bolts, remove the lower section of the pan with the sealing gasket (see Removal and installation the oil pan), - try not to damage the sensor wiring.
5. Remove the TORX head bolts and remove the sensor from the pan.
Installation
1. Install the sensor into the pan, screw in and tighten the TORX bolts to the required torque.

2. Make sure the mating surfaces of the lower and main sections of the pan are absolutely clean and dry, place a new gasket on the lower section and press the assembly onto the main assembly - do not forget to install a new O-ring on the oil level sensor connector and seat the connector into the main section of the pan.
3. Tighten the new bolts to secure the bathtub tray, then tighten the bolts to stage 1 torque moving diagonally from the center to the edges. Then tighten the fasteners to stage 2 torque in the same order.
4. Lower the car to the ground, fill the engine with fresh oil (see Chapter Routine maintenance).
