Removing
The procedure for carrying out the work is as indicated in the first two paragraphs this section.
Keep in mind that different types of distributors are installed depending on the model.
Loosen the two screws or release the two clamps with a screwdriver, depending on the version, and remove the distributor cover together with the HV wires.
If required, disconnect the distributor connector.
Carry out the work as directed ("Withdrawal") in paragraphs six through eight of this section, subject to the following:
- a) some distributors may have marks on the distributor housing and camshaft housing;
- b) on some distributors, the No. 1 piston is at the ignition point if the rotating cam is centered with the TDC arrow stamped on the distributor body (instead of a cutout on the distributor body).
Repair
On some Bosch distributors it is possible, if necessary, to replace the plastic drive sleeve after removing the pin, however, there are no other spare parts for the distributors, and if it is defective, it must be completely replaced. The distributor cap and lever can be checked as mentioned earlier (pic. 5.10).
Installation
If required, check the condition of the O-ring at the base of the distributor and replace if necessary.
The order of performance of the work, as in the previous subsection "Installation".
