Removal
The procedure for carrying out the work is as indicated in the first two points of this section.
Please note that different types of distributors are installed depending on the model.
Loosen the two screws or release the two clamps with a screwdriver, depending on the version, and remove the distributor cap together with the high voltage wires.
If necessary, disconnect the distributor plug.
Perform the work as indicated ("Removal") in paragraphs six through eight of this section, taking into account the following:
- a) Some distributors may have marks on the distributor body and camshaft housing;
- b) on some distributors, piston No.1 is at the ignition point if the rotating cam is centered with the TDC arrow stamped on the distributor body (instead of a notch on the distributor body).



Repair
On some Bosch distributors the plastic drive sleeve can be replaced if necessary after the pin has been removed, but there are no other spare parts for the distributor and if it is faulty it must be replaced completely. The distributor cap and lever can be checked as described earlier (Fig. 5.10).

Installation
If necessary, check the condition of the sealing ring at the base of the distributor and replace it if necessary.
The order of execution of work is the same as in the previous subsection "Installation".
