Front bumper
The bumper is removed entirely as an assembly along with the front facing panel. On models with front fog lamps, disconnect the negative battery terminal and the fog lamp harness connectors.
If desired, apply the handbrake for better access, then jack up the front of the vehicle and secure it on stands under the bridge.
Remove the grille as instructed in the next section.
Working under the wheel arches, remove the screws and/or clips securing the rear bumper sections to the wheel arch spacers.
Remove the two screws securing each side of the bumper to the brackets on the body.
Remove two nuts (one on each side of the bumper) fastening the bumper to the front panel of the body. Remove washers.
Remove the four plastic clips securing the lower edge of the bumper to the lower body panel. To remove the clips, remove the center pins with a screwdriver, then remove the clips.
Carefully remove the bumper from the vehicle.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Rear bumper
The bumper is removed as an assembly along with the rear trim panel.
On sedan and hatchback models, remove the license plate light as directed in chapter 12.
Working under the wheel arches, remove the two screws securing both sides of the bumper to the brackets on the body.
Where required, remove the luggage compartment trim panel to access the rear body panel and bumper mounting nuts. On station wagon and van models, the spare wheel cover must be lifted to access one of the bumper mounting nuts.
Unscrew the two nuts securing the rear body panel and bumper (one on each side of the bumper). Remove washers.
Carefully remove the bumper from the vehicle.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
