Removal



1. Remove the ground cable from the battery.

2. Open the rear door and unscrew the screws, release the mounting brackets.

2. Open the rear door and unscrew the screws, release the mounting brackets.


3. Remove the rear door trim.

4. Disconnect the electrical connector located under the rear door glass.

5. Remove the bolt and disconnect the rear door ground bus.



6. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the rear window defroster, interior courtesy switch, number plate light, windscreen wiper motor, central door lock motor and anti-theft alarm switch.

7. Tie a thin string to the end of the wire harness, then pull the wire harness out of the top of the tailgate. Untie the string and leave it in the door.

8. Disconnect the rear door window washer hose.

9. While holding the rear door open, detach the rear door support posts.

10. Remove the hinge pin retaining brackets (arrow) and use a punch to knock out the pins and remove the rear door.

Installation



Installation


1. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Check that the rear door lock is securely fixed to the strike plate.

2. If the position of the strike plate needs to be adjusted, unscrew the screws securing the lower part of the door opening trim, loosen the bolts securing the strike plate, adjust its position and secure it with the bolts again.
