Removal
1. Drain the engine oil and remove the oil filter.
2. Remove the timing belt.
3. Remove the crankshaft and camshaft sprockets. Remove the timing belt tensioner.
4. Remove the rear timing belt cover.
5. Remove the oil pan and oil pickup pipe.
6. Disconnect the wire from the oil pressure sensor switch.
7. Remove the bolts and remove the oil pump.
Bulkhead

1. Remove the screws and remove the oil pump cover.
2. Mark the correct installation position of the pump gears.

3. Remove the gears (indicated by the arrow).

4. Unscrew the plug (4) of the pressure reducing valve and remove the spring and piston (1) (2 – spring, 3 – sealing washer).
5. Clean all oil pump parts thoroughly and inspect them for signs of wear and damage. If the gears or pump housing are damaged, the pump must be replaced.


6. Measure the gap between the gear teeth (drawing on the left) and the gap between the plane of the pump and the plane of the gears (drawing on the right). If necessary, the pump must be replaced.
7. Assemble the pump in reverse order.
Installation

1. Remove the old crankshaft oil seal and install a new one.
2. Install a new gasket on the cylinder block.
3. Install the pump, insert and tighten the bolts.
4. Install the remaining parts.
