Removing
1. Drain the engine oil and remove the oil filter.
2. Remove the timing belt.
3. Remove the crankshaft and camshaft sprockets. Remove the timing belt tensioner.
4. Remove the rear timing belt cover.
5. Remove the oil pan and oil pickup tube.
6. Disconnect the wire from the oil pressure switch.
7. Unscrew the bolts and remove the oil pump.
Bulkhead
1. Remove the screws and remove the oil pump cover.
2. Mark the correct installation position of the pump gears.
3. Take out the gears (arrow).
4. Unscrew the plug (4) pressure reducing valve and remove the spring and piston (1) (2 - spring, 3 - sealing washer).
5. Thoroughly clean all parts of the oil pump and inspect them for signs of wear and damage. If the gears or pump casing are damaged, the pump must be replaced.
6. Measure the gap between the teeth of the gears (drawing on the left) and the gap between the pump plane and the gear plane (drawing on the right). If necessary, the pump must be replaced.
7. Reassemble the pump in reverse order.
Installation
1. Remove the old crankshaft seal and install a new one.
2. Install a new gasket on the cylinder block.
3. Install the pump, insert and tighten the bolts.
4. Install the remaining parts.
