Timing Belt Tensioner and Sprockets (Opel Omega B)

Camshaft Sprocket

Removal

1. Remove the timing belt.



2. Lock the camshaft sprocket.

3. Unscrew the sprocket bolt and remove the sprocket.

Installation

1. Inspect the camshaft seal and replace it if necessary.



2. Place the sprocket onto the end of the camshaft, aligning the dowel pin (1) and the hole in the sprocket (2), and tighten the bolt.

Crankshaft sprocket

Removal

1. Remove the timing belt.

2. Lock the crankshaft.

3. Remove the sprocket bolt and remove the sprocket. You will need a new bolt during installation.

Installation

Insert the woodruff key into the shaft, install the sprocket and tighten the bolt.

Tensioner

Removal

1. Remove the timing belt.

2. Unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the tensioner.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
