1. Move the selector lever to position «N».
2. Disconnect the inhibitor switch connector located on the baffle. Cut the strap securing the electrical wiring to the filler pipe.
3. Jack up the front of the car, secure it on axle stands.
4. Release the electrical wiring from the bottom and brackets on the transmission.
5. Disconnect the cooling pipes from the transmission (photo). Plug open ends to prevent dust and dirt from entering.
6. Unscrew the jam nut from the front connector on the switch. Move the connector to the side.
7. Turn off a back bolt. Bend the locking tab and unscrew the nut.
8. Remove the inhibitor switch from the transmission.
9. Installation is carried out in reverse order, however, before tightening the rear bolt, the switch must be correctly aligned as follows. Place a steel ruler or piece of rod on the rear washer of the switch shaft. With the transmission in neutral, align the line on the switch with the mark, then tighten the switch to the specified torque.
