Automatic transmission selector lever — removal and installation (Opel Omega A)

1. Use a screwdriver to remove the mechanism indicator panel (photo).





2. Lift the slot cover (photo).



3. Remove the front mounting screw, release the panel from the rear holes (photo).





4. Pull out the lamp holder, remove the surrounding group (photo).





5. Place the block on the right side of the selector lever (Figure 6.19).

6. Jack up the front of the car and secure it on axle supports.

7. Disconnect the tie rod from the lever on the transmission by releasing the spring clip and pivot pin.

8. Unscrew the nut, disconnect the rod from the selector lever shaft. Remove the knurled washer and rubber ring. Remove the bar.

9. Disconnect the connector, then pull the selector lever sideways out of the bearing and remove it (photo).





10. If necessary, disconnect the wiring from the lamp holder and pull out the incandescent lamp (photo).





11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order, adjust the draft as described in Chapter 17.
