Carburetor — removal and installation (Opel Omega A)

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the air filter as described in Chapter 4.

3. Drain the cooling system (Section 2) or install clamps on the automatic choke coolant hoses.

4. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the coolant hoses from the automatic air damper cover.

5. Loosen the clamps, disconnect the fuel supply hose and, if available, the return hose.

6. Disconnect the accelerator cable (Chapter 11).

7. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the shut-off valve, thermal time valve and automatic air damper.

8. Note the location of the vacuum hoses, then disconnect them.

9. Unscrew the nuts, then lift the carburetor off the stands. Remove the gasket.

10. Installation is carried out in the reverse order, if necessary, use a new gasket. Adjust the accelerator cable as described in Chapter 11. Fill the cooling system (Section 2) and install the air filter (Chapter 4).
