The Pierburg 2E3 carburetor contains an electrically controlled automatic choke. It has a dual chamber design with progressive throttles. The primary throttle is opened mechanically, the secondary throttle is opened by vacuum developing in both diffusers.
Primary and secondary transfer systems and a load enrichment valve ensure efficient operation at all speeds and loads. The idle shut-off valve stops the supply of fuel to the idle circuit when the ignition is turned off.
