The Pierburg 2E3 carburetor contains an electrically controlled automatic air damper. It has a two-chamber design with progressively controlled throttle valves. The primary throttle valve opens mechanically, the secondary throttle valve opens with a vacuum developing in both diffusers.
The primary and secondary transition systems and the load enrichment valve ensure effective operation at all speed and load conditions. The idle cut-off valve stops the supply of fuel to the idle circuit when the ignition is turned off.
