1. Disconnect the glow plug relay. The relay is located in the front passenger's footwell, behind the A-pillar cover.

2. Connect the voltmeter to the plug 30 of the holder of the relay and weight. The voltmeter should detect the presence of voltage, otherwise check the voltage supply from the battery.
3. Connect the voltmeter to the plug 86 of the holder of the relay and weight. Turn on the ignition. The voltmeter should detect the presence of voltage, otherwise check the voltage supply from the battery.
4. If voltage is present, check the wire going to the glow plugs and replace if necessary. Otherwise, replace the glow plug relay.
5. Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no resistance between terminals 30 and 87 of the relay. If battery voltage is applied to terminals 86 and 85, the relay should turn on. The resistance between terminals 30 and 87 must then be zero.
