Removing
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Disconnect the contact bus from the glow plugs and remove it.
3. Remove the glow plugs.
Location of glow plugs
Examination
1. Connect an ohmmeter and measure the resistance of the spark plug. It should be approximately 0.4 ohm.
Measurement of candle resistance
2. Apply battery voltage to the glow plug. To do this, attach one wire to the body of the candle, and the other to its thread.
Applying voltage to the glow plug
3. The candle should begin to glow at the top of the heating pin. Otherwise, replace the spark plug.
Test quickly, otherwise the candle may be damaged.
Installation
1. Screw the spark plug into the cylinder head with a force of no more than 20 Nm.
Exceeding the tightening force of the plug leads to an increase in the annular gap between the heating pin and the threaded part and premature failure of the plug.
2. Fix the contact bus on the candles.
3. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
