- The refrigerant is a chemical compound that requires careful handling to avoid causing harm to health.
- It is necessary to work in a well-ventilated area and avoid inhaling refrigerant vapors.
- When performing work involving depressurization of the air conditioning system, always wear safety glasses and wrap fittings, valves and connections in a clean cloth.
- It is prohibited to carry out welding work on a vehicle near air conditioning system components and pipelines.
- It is prohibited to bend flexible pipeline connections (hoses) with a radius less than four times the diameter of the flexible connection.
- Inspect hoses regularly for cracks and abrasions.
- Before disconnecting the air conditioning system pipes, all refrigerant must be removed from the system.
- Loosen the threaded connections of the system components slowly. Keep your face and hands away from the disconnection point to avoid injury if there is residual liquid refrigerant in the system.
- If pressure is detected in the system when disconnecting the pipes, remove the refrigerant from it as described in subsection Removal refrigerant from the air conditioning system.
- Immediately after disconnecting any section of the system, immediately close the openings with caps or tape. This will prevent moisture and dirt from entering the system, which can cause failure of the pump part of the compressor.
