The air coming into the car from the street is cleaned of dirt and pollen particles in the cabin air filter, located in the housing of the climate control unit.
The air filter element must be replaced in accordance with the maintenance schedule (see "Replacing the cabin air filter").
Exhaust ventilation is provided through grilles installed on the luggage compartment trim.
Note: When placing cargo in the trunk, try not to block the ventilation grilles if possible, leave a small gap between the luggage and the trim panel. Effective operation of the exhaust ventilation improves the temperature in the cabin and reduces condensation on the window glass.
From the street side, the exhaust ventilation openings are closed by deflectors with petal valves, which are installed in the rear part of the body, in the cavity of the rear bumper (view with rear bumper removed).
