Warning: Gasoline is a highly flammable and explosive product - when refueling your car, remember to turn off the engine and never approach the vehicle with an open flame or a lit cigarette!
If fuel gets on the body surfaces, wash it off with plenty of water as soon as possible to prevent damage to the paintwork! If the smell of fuel appears in the cabin, the cause of its appearance should be eliminated immediately - if necessary, contact an Opel service station.
The filler neck is mounted in the right rear wing of the car. The hatch is unlocked/locked simultaneously with the doors by a single locking system. The neck is equipped with a threaded cap with a ratchet mechanism. The fuel tank is equipped with a special limiter that prevents the risk of overfilling.
Open the hatch and slowly turn the filler cap, releasing the pressure of fuel vapors in the tank, then finally remove it and secure it in a special eye on the back of the hatch cover (see illustration 5.1).

To close the filler neck, replace the cap and turn it until the ratchet engages, then close the hatch by pressing the hinged cap firmly.
Note: If the tailgate is not closed tightly when the vehicle is locked, it may remain unlocked.
Caution: Only genuine Opel caps should be used as replacement caps. Using a cap of a different design may result in a malfunction of the fuel system! Models with diesel engines are equipped with specially designed caps!
