2. Loosen the axle nut (see photo).
3. Turn away a nut and press out a tip of steering draft.
4. Turn away bolts, remove an arm of a hose of a brake from a rack of a suspension bracket and get a hose from an arm.
5. The further procedure for removing the axle shaft is illustrated in the photo.
6. Secure the detached axle shaft and suspension strut.
7. Remove the protective panel of the engine. Place a pan under the transmission.
8. Pry off with a pry bar and remove the axle shaft from the transmission housing (see photo). On models 1.8 l 2000 g, a special groove for the tool is provided in the body of the inner CV joint. Remove the half shaft.
Attention! After removing the axle shaft, it is not allowed to roll the car in order to avoid destruction of the hub bearings. If it is necessary to move the car, insert a stud or bolt of the appropriate diameter into the hub and secure with nuts.
9. If the vibration damper will be rearranged to a new axle shaft, then measure the distance between the edge of the damper and the end face of the axle shaft (see photo).
10. The installation of the axle shaft is carried out in the reverse order. Check the condition of the axle shaft seal, replace if necessary (see photo). Replace the axle shaft circlip. Tighten the axle nut in several stages (see technical data). Replace split pin nut (see photo).
