3. Unscrew the nut and press out the steering rod end.



4. Loosen the bolts, remove the brake hose bracket from the suspension strut and remove the hose from the bracket.

6. Secure the disconnected axle shaft and suspension strut.



7. Remove the engine protective panel. Place a pan under the transmission.

8. Use a pry bar to pry the axle shaft out of the transmission housing (see photo). On 1.8L 2000 models, there is a special groove for the tool in the inner CV joint housing. Remove the half shaft.

Attention! After removing the axle shaft, do not roll the car to avoid damaging the hub bearings. If you need to move the car, insert a stud or bolt of the appropriate diameter into the hub and secure it with nuts.
