2. Warm up the engine after driving, stop the vehicle and idle the engine. After a few minutes, the fan should turn on. The fan should also turn on before the motor overheats (when the arrow of the temperature indicator approaches the overheating area). If the fan does not turn on, and the circuit and ignition switch are OK, then the electric motor is faulty.
Astra models without air conditioning
3. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
4. Disconnect the connector from the fan, remove the fan wire from the wire harness.
5 Remove the upper bolts securing the fan to the radiator, remove the fan from the engine compartment by removing it from the bottom brackets.
6. Loosen the screws, remove the resistor and connector from the fan frame, as well as the electric motor with impeller (the impeller is attached to the shaft with screws).
Zafira models without air conditioning
7. Remove the front bumper (Chapter 11).
8. Disconnect the connector from the fan, unscrew the side mounting bolts and remove the fan by lowering it and pulling it out from under the car.
9. Turn away screws and remove a safety lattice. Remove 3 bolts and remove the motor with impeller. The impeller is attached to the motor with screws.
Astra models with air conditioning
10. Remove the battery and tray.
11. Remove the air filter and air ducts.
12. Remove the front bumper (Chapter 11).
13. Drain the liquid from the cooling system.
14. Disconnect the connectors of the fan, compressor, pressure sensor from the fan control unit. Loosen the nut and disconnect the ground bar on the left fender mudguard.
15. Turn away the top bolts of fastening of the fan and get the fan from a motor compartment, having removed from the bottom brackets.
16. Loosen the screws, remove the resistor and connector from the fan frame, as well as the electric motor with the impeller (the impeller is attached to the shaft with screws).
Air-conditioned Zafira models
17. Remove the air filter and air ducts, disconnect a socket from the gauge of the expense of air.
18. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover.
19. Turn away bolts, remove brackets and remove the resonator from a bulkhead.
20. Remove the front bumper (Chapter 11).

22. Disassemble the fan and remove the electric motor (see photo).
23. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
