1. The fan operation is controlled by a separate unit, which is mounted behind the front bumper on the left side of the car (see photo). The control unit receives a signal from the liquid temperature sensor.

2. Warm up the engine by driving, stop the car and let the engine idle. After a few minutes, the fan should turn on. The fan should also turn on until the engine overheats (when the temperature indicator arrow approaches the overheating zone). If the fan does not turn on, and the circuit and ignition switch are in good condition, then the electric motor is faulty.

3. Disconnect the battery from ground.

4. Disconnect the connector from the fan, remove the fan wire from the wiring harness.

5 Unscrew the upper bolts securing the fan to the radiator, remove the fan from the engine compartment, removing it from the lower brackets.

6. Loosen the screws, remove the resistor and connector from the fan frame, as well as the electric motor with the impeller (the impeller is attached to the shaft with screws).

7. Remove the front bumper (Chapter 11).

8. Disconnect the connector from the fan, unscrew the side mounting bolts and remove the fan by lowering it and taking it out from under the car.

9. Unscrew the screws and remove the safety grill. Unscrew the 3 bolts and remove the electric motor with the impeller. The impeller is attached to the electric motor with screws.

10. Remove the battery and tray.

11. Remove the air filter and air ducts.

12. Remove the front bumper (Chapter 11).

13. Drain the fluid from the cooling system.

14. Disconnect the fan, compressor, and pressure sensor connectors from the fan control unit. Loosen the nut and disconnect the ground bus on the left wing splash guard.

15. Unscrew the upper fan mounting bolts and remove the fan from the engine compartment, removing it from the lower brackets.

16. Loosen the screws, remove the resistor and connector from the fan frame, as well as the electric motor with the impeller (the impeller is attached to the shaft with screws).

17. Remove the air filter and air ducts, disconnect the connector from the air flow sensor.

18. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover.

19. Loosen the bolts, remove the brackets and remove the resonator from the front bulkhead.

20. Remove the front bumper (Chapter 11).
