Radiator — removal and installation (Opel Astra G)

1. On models without air conditioning, disconnect the battery from ground.

2. On Astra models with air conditioning, remove the battery (Chapter 5A) and the battery tray. Remove the air filter and air ducts.

3. On Zafira models with air conditioning, unscrew the bolts and remove the resonator from the front bulkhead, disconnect the air intake pipe from the resonator (see photo).





4. Raise the front of the vehicle and remove the engine mud deflector.

5. Drain the coolant.

6. Remove the fan (see below).

7. The further procedure for removing the radiator is illustrated in the photo.







8. Mark and disconnect the oil cooler hoses from the radiator.



9. Secure the radiator by inserting 2 screwdrivers into the holes of the side mounts and remove the lower mount brackets by unscrewing the bolts.

10. On models with air conditioning, unscrew the condenser mounting bolts and tie the condenser to the front bulkhead (see photo).





11. While holding the radiator, remove the retaining screwdrivers and remove the radiator (see photo).



12. Flush the radiator and clean the inter-fin spaces.

13. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
