Rear Compartment Lid Parts — Removal and Installation (Opel Astra G)

Lid stand

1. Open the lid and have an assistant hold it.

2. Remove the spring clips from the lid posts, disconnect the posts from the ball joints (see photo).





3. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Lock

4. Remove the lower inner panel of the rear compartment partition.

5. Disconnect from the lock rod by removing the plastic brackets (see photo).



6. Loosen the screws and remove the lock (see photo).











7. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Drum switch lock

8. Remove the lower inner panel of the rear compartment cover.

9. Remove the bracket through the opening in the cover frame and disconnect the rod from the lock (see photo).



10. Unscrew the nuts and remove the switch (see photo).







11. Installation of the lock switch is performed in reverse order.

Lock retainer

12. The retainer is secured with bolts to the lower part of the rear bulkhead of the body (see photo).

13. To access the retainer, remove the trim by unscrewing the screws, outline the contour and remove the retainer.

Lever

14. The rear compartment lid handle is secured to the lid with 2 nuts.
