Torque converter shaft seal
1. Remove the transmission (see Removal and installation of AT).
2. Carefully slide the torque converter assembly along the shaft - be prepared to collect any spilled fluid.
3. Try to remember the location and order of installation of the seal in the pump body. Carefully pry up with a large screwdriver, remove the old seal - try not to damage the walls of the seat and the surface of the shaft journal.
4. Carefully clean the mating surfaces of the seal seat and the shaft journal, then carefully press the new seal into the seat with the sealing lips inside the transmission.
5. Lubricate the seal lips with fresh ATF and carefully slide the torque converter along the shaft into the transmission.
6. Install the transmission into place (see Removal and installation of AT).
