Removal and installation the outer door handle (Opel Astra G)

Front doors

1. To gain access to the handle, remove the door interior trim panel and the insulating plastic membrane (see Removal and installation of interior trim panels). Remove the rear door glass guide channel.



2. Through the hole in the inner panel of the door frame, disconnect the rods going from the handle to the off button and the lock hook - the rods are secured with plastic fasteners.



3. Loosen the two mounting nuts and remove the housing plate from the door frame.





4. Carefully remove the outer door handle.



5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Before installing the inner door trim, check the proper functioning of the handle - if necessary, adjust the lengths of the drive rods by turning the plastic adjustment wheel.

Rear doors

1. To gain access to the handle, remove the door interior trim panel and the insulating plastic membrane (see Removal and installation of interior trim panels).

2. Disconnect the lock rod from the handle through the hole in the inner panel of the door frame; the rod is secured with a plastic retainer.

3. Loosen the two mounting nuts and remove the housing plate from the door frame.



4. Carefully remove the outer door handle.

5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Before installing the interior door trim, check the proper functioning of the handle.
