Maintenance frequency (Opel Vectra B)

To keep your vehicle in top condition, it is important to service it periodically. Service can be performed either continuously or at specific intervals, which are listed below. These are the minimum service intervals recommended by this manual.

Weekly or every 400 km



Check the following points:
  • engine oil level;
  • coolant level;
  • brake fluid level;
  • presence of water in the windshield washer;
  • condition of the battery, tires, windshield wipers and all bulbs.

Every 7,500 km or 6 months (whichever comes first)



Change engine oil and filter. Warning! The manufacturer recommends changing the oil every 15,000 km or 12 months. However, if the vehicle is used on a large number of short trips, it is recommended to change the oil and filter more often.


Every 15,000 km or 12 months (whichever comes first)



Check the condition and tension of the auxiliary drive belt.

Remove water from the fuel filter.

Check idle speed and exhaust emissions.

Check the operation of all electrical systems.

Check and, if necessary, adjust the light of all headlights.

Check the front brake pads and discs.

Check the rear brake pads and discs.

Check all under-hood components and fluid hoses.

Check the rear suspension level control system.

Replace the pollen filter.

Every 30,000 km or 2 years (whichever comes first)



Replace the air filter element.



Replace the fuel filter.

Check and adjust valve clearances if necessary.

Check the gearbox oil level.

Check the rear brake shoes and brake drums.

Check steering and suspension components.

Check the condition of the drive shaft protective covers.

Every 2 years regardless of mileage



Replace the brake fluid.

Replace the batteries in the remote control.

Replace the coolant.

Every 60,000 km or 4 years (whichever comes first)



On 1.7L engines, replace the timing belt.
