General information (Opel Vectra A)

The 88 hp Opel Vectra engine, which complies with European exhaust gas toxicity standards, is equipped with the Ecotronic fuel system, consisting of a 2EE carburetor and a computer. The system does not require maintenance. If necessary, you only need to check and, if necessary, adjust the CO content at idle. Engines with 82 and 75 hp are equipped with a 2E3 carburetor.

Note: According to established regulations, the exhaust gas composition adjustment screws must be closed (sealed) to prevent self-adjustment. The location and number of screws depend on the type of carburetor.

The seals of the adjusting screws can be removed with pliers or a screwdriver. In some cases, the following method of removing the seals can be used. A screw with a diameter of 2 mm is screwed into the plastic seal and it is pulled out together with the screw. After the appropriate adjustment, the screw must be sealed with a new seal, which is included in the spare parts kit. Until the exhaust gas composition meets the established standards, the operation of the car is not allowed.
