1. If a malfunction of the engine management system is suspected (fuel injection/ignition), first check that the air filter element is clean, the spark plugs are in good condition with properly adjusted electrode gaps, the engine breather hoses are not damaged or clogged (see related section). Also check that the throttle cable is properly adjusted (see related section). If the engine runs very erratically, check the compression (see related section). In the process of checking the spark plugs, also check the high voltage wires as follows.
2. Check the condition of the high voltage wire lug. It is simply put on the spark plug, so keep an eye on the tightness of the fit. If the lug is loose, remove the wire and use pliers to carefully bend the metal connector of the inner lug.
3. Using a clean rag, wipe the wires along the entire length. Then carefully inspect them for burnt places, cracks and other damage. Do not excessively bend the wires, otherwise the inner conductor may break.
4. Disconnect the other end of the wire from the ignition module (see chapter 3) and check this tip in the way described earlier. Before removing the wires, check that they are numbered. The wires are disconnected from the candles by grabbing the tip, otherwise the connections may break. Finally, put the wire back in place.
5. Check the remaining wires one by one. If new wires are required, a kit suitable for your vehicle and engine must be purchased.
6. If, as a result of the checks, the cause of the problem could not be found, contact your Opel dealer. The ignition module wiring connector is included in the engine management system circuit, which has a diagnostic connector to which a special tester can be connected (see related section). With the help of a tester, you can quickly and easily determine the malfunction.
