Attention! When the battery is disconnected, the registered information is deleted from the memory of some electronic control units, for example, the codes of registered malfunctions in the engine, gearbox, ABS, as well as the radio receiver protection code are deleted from the memory of the self-diagnostic system.
The power window control unit will need to be activated after connecting the battery.
Installation
1. Before installing the battery, clean its terminals with a brass brush. To protect against corrosion, lubricate both terminals with a special battery grease, such as BOSCH.
2. Place the battery into the tray.
3. Secure the battery in the tray with the pressure plate by screwing in the mounting bolt (see illustration).

4. First connect the positive potential wire terminal to the (+) pole, and then connect the ground (-) wire terminal to the negative pole (see illustration 11.3).
Caution! Ensure reliable ground contact (-). High contact resistance, especially when starting the engine, can overload the electronic engine control unit and even damage it.
OPEL OMEGA cars are equipped with maintenance-free batteries as standard. This battery does not require, as in earlier models, topping up with distilled water, but it is necessary to follow certain rules for its care.
