Rear Window Defogger — Check (Opel Omega B2)

            0

When you turn on the rear window heating, after a while the icing or fogging of the rear window should disappear.

1. Check the fuse first if the heater does not work.

2. Remove the trim and check the fit of the left and right power supply plugs to the rear window heater, if the fuse is OK. Clean the plugs if necessary.

If the heater still does not work, contact a specialized workshop.

If the heating filaments are broken, they can be restored using a conductive silver-based varnish, which is commercially available. To do this, clean the damaged area with a soft cloth.

3. Cover the damaged area A with tape B on both sides and apply conductive varnish C with a brush (see illustration).

4. Let the varnish dry for 24 hours at a temperature of +25°C. If necessary, you can use a hair dryer. At a temperature of +150°C, the varnish dries in 30 minutes.

Warning! Do not turn on the rear window heater until the varnish has dried. Do not use gasoline or other solvents to treat the damaged thread.
