Removal
1. Drain the coolant.
2. Remove the intake manifold.

3. Disconnect the wires from the coolant temperature indicator sensor and the engine management system coolant temperature sensor (indicated by arrows).

4. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the outlet pipe (indicated by arrows).

5. Remove the bolts and disconnect the outlet pipe and remove the sealing washers (indicated by arrows).
6. Unscrew the bolts and remove the upper heat shield of the exhaust manifold of the left cylinder bank.
7. Remove the oil filter and replace it if necessary.

8. Remove the nuts securing the oil cooler pipes to the cylinder block.

9. Remove the bolts securing the pipes to the oil cooler.

10. Remove the large nuts securing the oil cooler connections to the cover.

11. Then remove the bolts and remove the cover from the top of the cylinder block.

12. Remove the oil cooler. If the cooler is damaged, it must be replaced.
Installation
1. Clean the surfaces of the radiator, cover and cylinder block.
2. Install new O-rings on the radiator connections. Install the cover and tighten the large nuts.

3. Apply a 2 mm thick layer of sealant N15 03 296 into the groove of the oil cooler cover.

4. Install the radiator together with the cover, tighten the mounting bolts and tighten the large nuts to the required tightening torque.
5. Install the remaining parts.
