Thermostat — removal and installation (Opel Omega B)

Four-cylinder models

Removal

1. Drain the coolant.

2. Disconnect the hose from the thermostat housing cover.

3. Unscrew the bolts and remove the cover. Note that the thermostat is built into the cover.

4. Clean the thermostat housing thoroughly. And prepare a new thermostat cover sealing ring.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Six-cylinder models

Removal

1. Drain the coolant.

2. Disconnect the hose from the thermostat housing cover.

3. Remove the bolt securing the coolant pipe to the cylinder head.



4. Pull the coolant pipe.



5. Disconnect the coolant pipe from the thermostat housing.

6. Remove the upper half of the intake manifold.





7. Unscrew the bolts and remove the cover. Note that the thermostat is built into the cover.

Installation

1. Install the sealing ring.

2. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
