Cooling Fan — Removal and Installation (Opel Omega B)

Main cooling fan (four-cylinder models)



Removal and installation



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect the wires from the fan motor.

3. Remove the two screws securing the fan to the rear of the radiator.

4. Disconnect the fan shroud from the lower mount and remove the shroud together with the fan.

5. Remove the three nuts and remove the fan motor.

6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Main cooling fan (six-cylinder engines)



Removal and installation



1. Remove the battery.

2. Disconnect the secondary air shut-off valve from the fan housing.

3. Remove the screws and remove the top radiator cover.

4. Remove the pre-chamber of the multi-flow air intake system.

5. Disconnect the wires from the back of the radiator motor.

6. Remove the auxiliary water pump located on the side of the fan shroud.

6. Remove the auxiliary water pump located on the side of the fan shroud.


7. Remove the three screws securing the fan shroud to the rear of the radiator.

8. Disconnect the fan shroud from the lower mount and remove the shroud together with the fan.

9. Remove the three nuts and remove the fan motor.

10. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Auxiliary cooling fans



Removal



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the radiator grille and cross member located at the front of the engine compartment.

3. Remove the screws and detach the air intake from the crossmember.

4. Remove the cover and disconnect the auxiliary fan wiring harness from the multi-pin connector.

5. Disconnect the wiring harness channel from the body.

6. Remove the screws and remove the fan and fan motor from the housing.

Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
