2. Remove the bolts securing the drive shaft to the rear hub. Remove the spring washers.
3. Disconnect the drive shaft from the rear hub, support it above the brake disc assembly.
4. Remove the rear wheel.
5. Place a container under the final drive mechanism.
6. Carefully disconnect the drive shaft from the final drive differential. On ABS models, be careful not to damage the speed sensor and gear.
7. Remove the drive shaft.
8. Check the retaining ring on the inner edge of the drive shaft and replace it if necessary.
9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Make sure that the drive shaft is fully inserted into the differential side gear, the locking ring should be in the groove. Tighten the mounting bolts in two stages, given in the Specifications (photo). Check and, if necessary, top up the oil level in the final drive mechanism.
