Final Drive Differential Bearing Seal — Replacement (Opel Omega A)

1. Block the front wheels. Jack up the rear of the car, secure it on axle stands. Remove the corresponding rear wheel.

2. Remove the appropriate drive shaft as described in Chapter 8.

3. Note the installation depth of the oil seal in the final drive housing.

4. Use a screwdriver to remove the seal (photo). Wipe the seal's support surface.



5. Lubricate the sealing lip of the new oil seal. Using a suitable metal tube, push the oil seal into the housing to the previously marked position.

6. Install the drive shaft as described in Chapter 8.

7. Install the wheel and lower the car to the ground.
