1. Open the back door.

2. Disconnect the struts by removing the spring clamps from the outside using a lever (photo).



3. Remove the trim panel (Chapter 10).

4. Disconnect the wires and washer hose.

5. With the help of an assistant, remove the hinge brackets, push out the pins and remove the rear door from the vehicle (photo).



6. The lock can be removed by disconnecting the rod and removing the four mounting screws (photo).





7. By unscrewing the screws and removing the rear plastic protective trim, the strike plate is accessible. The strike plate can then be unscrewed (photo).
