For vehicles with engine «20XE» installed 5-speed gearbox type «F20», which is a modification of the 5-speed gearbox type «F16». The main differences of the gearbox type «F20» from KP type «F16» are as follows:
- reinforced gearbox housing and gear shift drive;
- gear ratios are changed in accordance with the characteristics of the engine;
- noise-insulating clutch housing covers, differential cover and gearbox rear cover made of aluminum alloy by injection molding were used;
- applied synchronizer I and II gears with three blocking rings (the design and principle of operation of this synchronizer are given in the section «Gearbox types «F10» And «F13») and synchronizer of III and IV gears of reinforced design;
- the retaining ring of the ball bearing of the secondary shaft has been abolished;
- the filling capacity of the gearbox housing is 1.8 liters.
Marking
The transmission code number is stamped on the rear cover. For example, 26412... 374, where
- 264 is the ordinal number of the day of the year;
- 1 - the last digit of the year of issue;
- 2 - number of the shift that assembled the gearbox (1 - morning shift; 2 - evening shift);
- ... - a place for applying special codes from 0 to 99;
- 374 - gear ratio of the main gear. In this example, 3.74.

Differential
The differential box rotates on two tapered roller bearings. The bearing preload is adjusted with a nut.
