Generator specifications (Opel Kadett E)

The cars are equipped with three-phase alternating current generators of the Bosch or Delco-Remy brand with a built-in rectifier block on nine valves, including three additional diodes, and an electronic voltage regulator. Depending on the generator type, the stator windings are connected in a star or triangle. The rotor has an excitation winding, and slip rings are pressed onto the rotor shaft. The generator is cooled through the holes in the covers and by a fan mounted on the drive pulley. The direction of rotation of the generator is right, when viewed from the drive side.

Generator drive belt

The generator is driven by a V-belt from the crankshaft pulley.

Brand and type of belt: GM 9 091 742 RF 9.5 K 888 1a.

Since March 1987, on vehicles with a 16SV engine and power steering, the generator has been driven by a multi-groove accessory drive belt.
