OHV Engine 1.0L
For precise adjustment of breaker contacts (closed state angle) a device measuring the closed state angle is required. The closed state angle should also be checked before each ignition adjustment. If a device measuring the closed state angle is not available, the adjustment can be made using a flat feeler gauge with a thickness of 0.4 mm.
Examination
Connect the measuring device according to the instructions.
Check the value of the closed state angle at idle. It should be 50° ±3°. If the nominal value is not achieved, make adjustments.
Adjustment
Remove the distributor cap.
Slightly loosen the contact mounting bolt (top arrow).

Note: Bearing plate remains installed.
At starting speed (start the engine) change the gap between the contacts with a screwdriver. Insert the screwdriver so that it enters the recess of the breaker and at the same time ends up between both thickenings (bottom arrow).
When the nominal value of 50° ±3° is reached, tighten the fastening bolts.
Put on the distributor cap, set 1000 rpm. Read the readings from the device, if the nominal value is not reached, repeat the adjustment.
Give a double number of revolutions for a short time, the value being checked may deviate only slightly by ±1°. Large deviations indicate wear of the distributor shaft. In this case, check the ignition distributor in a specialized workshop.
Check the ignition timing.
Install the cover on the distributor.
