Checking the axial play of the crankshaft (Opel Insignia A)

Note: The crankshaft is installed with main bearing caps.

1. Install the GE-571-B dial indicator:

• Install the holder on the front surface of the cylinder block.
• Place the dial indicator plunger against the crankshaft and adjust.

2. Measure the value of the longitudinal displacement of the crankshaft. Permissible axial clearance: 0.092-0.24 mm.

3. Remove the GE-571-B dial indicator.
