Removal and installation

1. Remove the mirror base upwards from the mirror mounting plate.

Do not separate the mirror from its ball head. If this happens, remove the base and place the mirror upside down on a flat surface. Lubricate the ball head with grease and press it into the mirror ball bearing with a wooden block.

2. Insert the mirror into the mounting plate until it stops.

Installing the mirror mounting plate

1. Clean the glass in the installation area with a mesh cleaner, for example, OPEL 1759201.

2. Limit the installation area with adhesive tape according to with accompanying illustration.

A — 50 mm

A — 50 mm

B — Center of glass

3. Sand the surface of the plate to be glued with P100 grit sandpaper and clean.

4. Mix two-component adhesive, for example OPEL 1504803 (90295281) and apply it in a layer approximately 1 mm thick onto the plate.

The gluing condition is an ambient temperature of approximately 20 degrees.

5. Place the plate on the glass and secure it with adhesive tape.

6. After 80 minutes the glue hardens and the mirror can be installed on the plate.

By heating the gluing area with a hair dryer, the curing time of the glue can be reduced. The heating temperature of the gluing area should not exceed 80 degrees.
