Removal and installation
1. Remove the mirror base upwards from the mirror mounting plate.
Do not separate the mirror from its ball head. If this happens, remove the base and place the mirror upside down on a flat surface. Lubricate the ball head with grease and use a wooden block to press it into the ball joint of the mirror.
2. Insert the mirror as far as it will go into its mounting plate.
Installing the Mirror Mounting Plate
1. Clean the glass in the installation area with a screen cleaner, such as OPEL 1759201.
2. Limit the installation area with adhesive tape according to with accompanying illustration.
Restriction of the installation area of the mirror mounting plate
A - 50 mm
B - Center of glass
3. Sand the adhesive surface of the plate with P100 grit sandpaper and clean.
4. Mix two-component adhesive, such as OPEL 1504803 (90295281) and apply it in a layer about 1 mm thick on the plate.
The bonding condition is an ambient temperature of approximately 20 degrees.
5. Attach the plate to the glass and fix it with adhesive tape.
6. After 80 minutes, the glue hardens and a mirror can be mounted on the plate.
By heating the bonding area with a hair dryer, the curing time of the adhesive can be shortened. The heating temperature of the bonding point should not exceed 80 degrees.
