
1. Squeeze the HO2S diagnostic wire harness connector clips and disconnect the connector.

2. Remove the intake pipe suspension cushions (see Replacing the exhaust system suspension cushions).

3. Unscrew the three nuts securing the intake pipe flange to the exhaust manifold flange…

4. …separate the flanges and remove the gasket.

5. Unscrew the two nuts securing the flange of the inlet pipe to the flange of the additional muffler…

6. …then remove the exhaust pipe…

7. …and a sealing gasket.

…and replace the rear gaskets of the intake pipe flanges with new ones every time the connection is disassembled, since heavily compressed gaskets will not provide a reliable seal.

8. If you are replacing the downpipe and the new pipe does not have an oxygen concentration sensor, unscrew it from the removed downpipe and install it on the new unit.
