Diesel engine fuel filter (Opel Astra G)

Every time you change the engine oil, you should remove any water that has accumulated in the fuel filter.

Diesel X17 DTL

Place a container under the fuel filter. Loosen the mounting screws with a special Torx T30 screwdriver. Loosen the screw at the bottom of the filter by about one turn and drain the water.

Diesel X20 DTL

Place a container under the fuel filter. Loosen the mounting screws with a special Torx T30 screwdriver. Loosen the screw at the bottom of the filter by about one turn and drain the water.



After the fuel starts to flow, tighten both screws on the filter.

Do not allow the filter to become empty, otherwise the fuel system air bleeding procedure should be performed only at an Opel service center.

General information

When driving in difficult conditions (high humidity, hot or too cold weather, large temperature differences between day and night) the service intervals of the fuel filter should be reduced.
