Fuel tank for diesel engine modifications (Opel Insignia A)

Fuel tank for diesel engine modifications


1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the muffler.

3. If equipped, remove the fuel tank guard.

4. Remove fuel from the tank.

5. Raise and secure the vehicle.

6. Disconnect the two electrical connectors.

7. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the filler hose (3) from the fuel tank.

8. Disconnect the ventilation hose (4) of the filler neck from the fuel tank.

9. Disconnect the pressure and return fuel lines (5) and set them aside.

10. Place a hydraulic jack under the fuel tank.

11. Loosen the two mounting bolts (1) and disconnect and then move aside the fuel tank clamps (2).

12. Slowly lower the fuel tank.

13. Using the EN-49232 tool with handle, turn the locking ring counterclockwise to unlock.

Note: Do not use pneumatic or electric powered tools. It is also not recommended to use a hammer or screwdriver to unlock the locking ring. To prevent the fuel tank from rotating, it must be securely fastened.


14. Remove the retaining ring (6) of the fuel pump module.

15. Remove the fuel pump module (7) from the fuel tank (8).

16. Assembly and installation are carried out in the reverse order of removal.
