Driver Side Airbag Module
1. Set the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position.
2. Remove the 2 screws behind the steering wheel (see photo). Disconnect the wires and remove the airbag module.



Passenger Side Airbag Module
3. Remove the glove box.
4. Unscrew 2 bolts (see photo) and remove the airbag module by disconnecting the connector.



Side airbag
5. Disable the airbags.
6. Remove the upholstery from the back of the front seat by lifting it off the brackets.
7. Disconnect the connector.
8. Unscrew 3 nuts and remove the airbag module. Replace the nuts when installing the module.
Contact block of the pneumatic safety system
9. Remove the driver's side airbag module.
10. Set the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position and remove the steering wheel.
11. Remove both steering column covers.
12. Remove the locking plate and disconnect the connector from the unit (see photo). Remove the 4 brackets and take out the block. Take care not to disturb the positions of both parts of the contact block, it is recommended to wrap them with tape.


13. When installing a new contact block, determine its central position. To do this, press the block retainer and carefully turn the inner part of the block counterclockwise until you feel resistance. Turn the inner part of the block clockwise by 2.5 turns and align the arrows on the inner and outer parts of the contact block. Install the block on the steering column so that the pins of the block enter the holes in the column. Carefully press the block until it clicks. Connect the wires and install the removed parts.
Attention! If the brackets break, the contact block must be replaced.
Airbag module control unit
14. Disable the airbags.
15. Remove the floor section. On the Zafira model, also remove the gearshift lever (see photo).


16. Disconnect the wires, unscrew the nuts and remove the control unit. Note that the arrow on the unit points forward in the direction of the vehicle.
17. Installation is performed in reverse order. Adaptation of the new unit is performed in the car service.
18. The remaining units and parts of the pneumatic safety system are performed in a car service center.
