From the side gears of the differential, the torque developed by the engine is transmitted to the front (leading) wheels by means of two drive shafts of unequal length.
Each shaft is equipped with an internal and external constant velocity joint (SHRUS). On models since 2000 release drive shafts with internal tripod-type CV joints are installed. The trunnions of the outer hinges are equipped with slots that provide coupling with the wheel hubs. On the outside of the hubs, the hinge pins are fixed with large hub nuts. The internal hinges are also slotted into a sliding connection with the side gears of the differential and are fixed with locking rings. The right drive shaft is equipped with a torsional vibration damper, which can significantly reduce the level of vibrations when the vehicle is moving.
